The millions of people taking part in Tea Parties around the country were almost completely ignored by the network news, but a few shots were taken at the participants who made (totally valid) comparisons between Hitler and our president.

One thing that both groups overlooked was what the Obama administraton has done with the National Endowment for the Arts (the tax-payer funded organizaton that pays for public art projects around the country).

Since taking office, these grants have been given only to groups making politically themed art, and only political art projects depicting some segment of the Obama administration.

During this call, notes ABC News, Yosi Sergant, the NEA’s communications director at the time, apparently urged the artists on the conference call to use their NEA grants to create artwork which would directly advance items our president’s policy agenda (e.g. socialized health care, federally controlled education/teachers, and the environment).

ABC also notes:

Buffy Wicks, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, was also on the call, and thanked the artists “for being on the call and just a deep deep appreciation for all the work you all put into the campaign for the two-plus years we all worked together.”

Here’s the reason this is scary: Every dictator in world history has taken control of the arts.

Stalin? Of course. Mao? You better believe it. Hitler? What would you expect from a former painter?

These three men alone accounted for the deaths of nearly a BILLION people, and, considering how ambitious our president is, I doubt he’ll be happy to let these mere mortals outdo him.
